SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick Review
WELCOME TO FARRELLIA!
Hiya! My name is Shaleen- I am a 21 year old from the bottom of the world with a skincare obsession.
As a sucker for just about anything rose related- this cult favourite quickly became a must buy. I had my eye on it since the very start of my Korean skincare journey but was very put off by the price. Once I realised I was spending too much money on skincare anyway, I decided I might as well bite the bullet and see what the fuss was about! Now I use this product every single day without fail. I'm in love.
- Definitely on the expensive side.
- A solid stick cleanser = no mess!
- Small = perfect for travel.
- Super gentle.
- Doesn't strip your skin.
- Has a pH of 5.5.
The SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick is a solid, stick cleanser. It has genuine rose petals that comes off onto your hands as you lather up the product. It is made up of 90% natural ingredients which I consider to be a pretty important factor in skincare these days- long gone are the days where I put chemicals straight on my face. It also smells like roses (you'd hope so right) which always makes it feel like a luxurious experience.
The SU:37 brand is "naturally fermented cosmetics containing vitality of the nature as it is." Their aim is to try to "get closer to the mystery of life, the marvellous natural conditions of the life and the old secrets of the original beauty instead of explaining proven excellence and efficacy of fermented science." Righto. That sounds hugely ambitious but if you're going to do something you might as well go all the way right? Getting closer to the meaning of life via skincare is something I can get behind. By now we should all know the benefits of fermented products but if you are unsure- the main idea is that after fermenting an ingredient, all the major benefits will have increased tenfold and even produced new ones.
The product comes in a 40ml twist container and as mentioned earlier, the cleanser itself is solid. You simply lather up as much product as you need, twist it back and viola. In this way, the Rose Stick is basically made for travel. It is uber convenient not only because of the no mess factor but also because the tube is small enough to fit into your skincare pouch without sacrificing on actual product.
- I would recommend this cleanser to absolutely everybody in the whole wide world. It ticks every box possible, and the hefty price tag can even be looked past when you consider that you'll be getting over 400+ washes with this bad boy. If you have sensitive skin then I would 100% recommend this cleanser because it is just sooo gentle.
HOW TO USE:
There are a number of ways you can use the Miracle Rose Stick. You could apply the stick straight onto a damp face but the following method is my favourite way as it feels the most gentle.
- Pat your face with warm water so that it is wet but not dripping.
- Don't dry your hands!
- Lather the cleanser onto the palm of your hand until you build up a desired amount of bubbles.
- Apply to your face, gentling massaging in circular motions.
- Enjoy! The product feels luxurious and definitely calls for a moment of relaxation.
In recent months, I have completely stripped down my skincare routine to the bare minimum. I was dealing with congested pores (which I've never really had to deal with before) and they wouldn't seem to go away. Now because I'm all 'go hard or go home' I had been adding in brand new skincare products willy nilly without test patching them. This had gone on for about 4 months when I realised that I had no way of telling whether these congested pores were a reaction to a product. So I reduced my routine down to a cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Because of the naturalness of the SU:M37 Rose Stick and all the reviews that sung its praises I decided that I would keep it as my cleanser. And as a result it ended up becoming my absolute favourite, holy grail cleanser.
The Rose Stick Cleanser is designed to be gentle, to get rid of the dirt on your face and to leave it feeling soft and hydrated. Once lathered, it is a creamy cleanser that goes on to your skin as gently as possible. The experience is so easy and enjoyable that you could quite possibly be washing your face for several minutes without realising it. There are little pieces of rose petals that will inevitably be rubbed into your face but they're not meant to be exfoliating and are very gentle. When you wash off the cleanser, my face always feels clean, hydrated and fresh- I have never experienced any drying effect from this product.
One of the best things about the Rose Stick is the fact that it is so travel friendly. It works for the gym, weekend getaways or actual travel- I can vouch for this because I have used it in every situation. Due to it being a stick cleanser it is pretty hard to make a mess with. As expected, it smells pretty darn good too.
The pricing of the SU:M37 Rose Cleanser is one downside however I believe it is fully worth looking past when you see the benefits of using this cleanser. It retails for around 40NZD/28USD. You will be using this stick *forever.* It also pays to keep in mind that this is a high end product from a high end brand. Unfortunately I am yet to find any good quality dupes for this bad boy so just think of it as an investment ;)
INGREDIENTS: WHAT THEY'RE FOR AND WHAT THEY DO:
Roses roses roses. You can see 'em and you can smell 'em. Roses are amazing for so many reasons- they are antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, contain antioxidants, are moisturising, naturally fragrant, relaxing and super gentle. This rose cleanser in particular always leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh and my mind relaxed.
I don't normally show the entire ingredient list, namely because I can't understand a lot of them and am assuming you cannot either. But the ingredients in this cleanser are so natural that they're worth having a look at, even if just to gawk.
Glycerol, Water, Orange Peel Oil, Lime Peel Oil, Lemon Peel Oil, Green Tea Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Basil Oil, Ylang Ylang Flower Oil, Majoram Oil, Fermented Damask Rose Extract, Apricot Seed Oil, Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil, Betaine, Stearic Acid, Lauric Acid, Camellia Oil, Tocopheral, Rose Flower Water, Potassium Hydroxide, Lauryl Betaine.
As you can see you've got all your citrusy extracts which are important for their vitamin c (brightening abilities) and they can also provide relief for acne. Green Tea Seed Oil is ideal for acne sufferers and Apricot Seed Oil and Sunflower Oil which nourishes and moisturise your skin.
